2211 MICHELSON

Irvine, California

5,000 sq. ft. of stone work

Mechanical attachment was used on this 12-story, 266,000 square-foot Californian jewel box office tower in Irvine, CA. Stone cladding was used in the lobby, elevator bank and vanity tops. This unique project incorporated material from five different countries around the world, Persian Red travertine, Italian Calacatta Sponda marble, African Black Impala granite, US Solar White granite and Moroccan Fossil Black limestone. The rap around of the Red travertine to the exterior of the building was a triumph in the installation process. The innovative stone pattern in the lobby floor was designed to represent a carpet-like pattern.
